Georgia Firefighter Scott Kerlin Fired & Arrested For Leaking Graphic Photos Of Twin Brothers’ Tragic Death Scene

A Georgia volunteer firefighter, Scott Kerlin, has been fired and arrested for allegedly interfering in an active investigation after taking and publicly sharing graphic photos from a tragic crime scene.

The case involves twin brothers, Qaadir and Naazir Lewis, who were found dead in a suspected murder-suicide on top of a mountain near the Georgia-North Carolina border.

Georgia Firefighter Scott Kerlin Fired & Arrested For Leaking Graphic Photos Of Twin Brothers’ Tragic Death Scene

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) revealed that Scott Kerlin, a 42-year-old firefighter in Towns County, took unauthorized photos of the deceased brothers and distributed them to the public.

His actions not only violated professional ethics but also hindered the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of the Lewis twins.

Kerlin has since been charged with misdemeanor obstruction and was subsequently relieved of his duties for breaching department protocols.

He later bonded out of jail, but the controversy surrounding his actions continues to spark outrage.

The tragedy unfolded when the Lewis twins, 19, from Lawrenceville, Georgia, failed to board their 7 a.m. flight out of Atlanta on March 7.

The following day, a hiker discovered their bodies near the North Carolina border, approximately 117 miles from the airport.

Authorities believe their deaths were the result of a murder-suicide, although the GBI has not disclosed which brother was the gunman.

The twins had planned to visit friends in Boston, and their airplane tickets were found in their wallets at the scene.

An autopsy has been conducted, but forensic test results are still pending.

Despite law enforcement’s preliminary conclusion, the Lewis family has expressed deep skepticism over the murder-suicide ruling.

Their aunt, Samira Brawner, voiced her confusion about the circumstances of their deaths, noting that the twins were not known to hike in the area where their bodies were found.

“We’re just trying to figure out what happened. We’re trying to put the pieces together to understand. How did they end up in the mountains? They don’t hike out there. They have never been out there,” Brawner told WSBTV.

The twins’ uncle, Rahim Brawner, echoed similar doubts, stating that he had never witnessed any physical altercations between them.

“I can’t imagine them hurting each other because I’ve never even seen them get into a fistfight before,” he said. “Murder-suicide? I just believe that they were extremely incapable of that.”

The actions of Scott Kerlin have ignited widespread condemnation, with many calling for severe legal repercussions.

The violation of the deceased’s dignity and the additional distress caused to the grieving family has led some to believe the Lewis family should pursue legal action against Kerlin for his reckless misconduct.

This heartbreaking case leaves behind more questions than answers.

As authorities continue their investigation and forensic results are awaited, the Lewis family, along with the public, demand justice for the twins and accountability for those who have worsened their pain.
