Watch live: House GOP leaders give remarks ahead of Trump joint address

House Republican leaders are holding a press conference Tuesday morning ahead of President Trump’s joint address to Congress and as the shutdown clock is ticking on Capitol Hill.

Lawmakers have just 10 days until government funding lapses on March 14. So far, according to Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), there is no bipartisan deal in sight and the House will likely have to move a stopgap funding bill through rather than the 12 appropriation bills that are typically used to fund the government.

Democrats have been pressing their GOP colleagues for assurances that Trump will properly direct the funds appropriated by Congress.

The press conference is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EST.
